Quintessence Saxophone Quintet has been invited to play in Washington DC!
The American Navy Band has invited us to play at the 35th "International Saxophone Symposium" in Fairfax, Virginia. A whole weekend full with saxophone ensembles and highly attentive audiences. Just great!
The new Bach programme is well received.
Our new repertoire for the future Bach CD is going down very well with audiences. After our first successful Bach CD in 1997 (!) the new CD will have a much more intense and virtuous feel to it. We're looking forward to the recording sessions in 2012..

QSQ wins the finals of the TIM Music contest in Italy!
On the 25th September after eliminating the competition in the three previous rounds of the Torneo Internazionale di Musica (TIM) we successfully won the finals against the Sicilian Acappella septet "Seiottavi".
Founding members of the competition were i.e. Vladimir Ashkenazy, Carlo Maria Giulini and Gerry Mulligan. Besides winning prize money we are pleased to have won numerous concerts in Italy and Europe.
Vivaldi's Seasons has now been released.
It's available worldwide - absolutely amazing if you ask me.

"Unter einem Himmel" DVD is now on sale.
In October 2009 the cantata for saxophone quintet und choir composed by our soprano saxophonist, composer and arranger Uli Lettermann had its premiere in the course of the Musica Sacra festival in Paderborn, Germany. A live recording of the concert together with the renowned Arnold Schönberg Choir of Vienna is available exclusively at our web shop.
ORGANIC
Our youngest CD with Organist Harduin Boeven, ORGANIC continues being a best seller. We are very proud of this special recording of a unique constellation never recorded before: Organ and Saxophone quintet. please remember: The CD is only available at our webshop.
New Bach CD in preparation.
At present we are working on our new Bach repertoire. Following up on the first Bach CD released in 1997 (!) the new repertoire will be a touch more virtuous, humorous and depict more clearly the close-knit harmonic and rhythmic developments applied by Uli, our arranger. The CD will then be produced in the first half of the 2011, the release is planned for Autumn 2011.
